Issue – Evaporative unit not cooling the workshop for staff requirements.
Attended site and liaised with staff. The unit was pumping water into the pads making them wet, which is what unit is meant to do and the flow levels were coming directly out of the unit, which was fine for the size of the evaporative unit. However, the issue on a hot day was that the unit was undersized for the workshop’s space.
- The square area of the workshop was 270 square meters which for the unit being used was way to small to meet the heat load.
- The unit installed currently delivers approximately 3000 l/s of cool air.
- The actual capacity of the area requires some 6000 l/s of air to cool the area.
The Solution
We suggested installing another unit with a capacity of 3000 l/s in section of workshop that would give optimum results to his staff when working in the heat of summer.
